Trump returns to the whitehouse. At least we know what to expect this time ... Or do we?

"To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness."
-- Oscar Wilde, "The Importance of Being Earnest"

I always say to people, look at Donald Trump right now, because that's the best Donald Trump you're ever going to see.
-- Dr. John Gartner, "Shrinking Trump"

The first time, some of us might have thought it was glitch ... After all he did not win the popular vote. There was interference by foreign Twitter trolls and bots ... But now we understand ... It's wasn't a bug ... It's a feature! ... There is something wrong with America's society and body politic in general and the Republican party in particular.

This time it will be different ... It will be worse. Trump has surrounded himself with sycophants and loyalists. The Heritage Foundation has laid the groundwork with "Project 2025". Immediately upon taking office. he wasted no time in issuing a flurry of executive orders. Most of them appeared to be following the broad outlines of Project 2025, closing the border, hinting at the removal of "birthright citizenship", suspending any admissions of refugees, and removing protections for career civil servants. There was also some orders pertaining to trans-gender citizens.

There are lists of the executive orders online. And most of them appear to be in the domain of domestic policy. No doubt these may become deeply troubling for the citizens of that formerly great nation. The real concern will be when Trump turns his attention to foreign policy. If he follows through on some of the incoherent ramblings made during his campaign, there could be serious economic, political and strategic consequences not only for the USA but the entire world.
